Provenance:
Tilla Durieux
Wilhelm Panick since 1966

During the years 1964 and 1965, when Tilla Durieux,
despite her great age, gave some of her last
performances in Berlin, Münster and Hamburg, she
met the private arts collector Wilhelm Panick in
Münster. In 1966 she made him the gift of this
drawing, which she also dedicated to him. The artist,
whose name remains unknown, appears to have
portrayed Durieux at a much younger age and
presented the drawing to her around that time.
